Indian Army Invests ₹100 Crore in Indigenous Tactical UAVs for ISR
The Indian Army has reinforced its Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities by placing a procurement order exceeding ₹100 crore for advanced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from domestic manufacturer ideaForge Technology. This order includes the newly developed ZOLT Tactical UAV and the proven SWITCH V2 Hybrid Drone, both designed for high-threat and GPS-denied environments, featuring enhanced Electronic Counter-Countermeasures (ECCM) capabilities. This strategic investment aligns with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, advancing the indigenous defense sector and ensuring that Indian forces maintain a competitive edge along the Northern and Western borders, crucial for national security in contested areas.
