India to Integrate MUM-T Datalink System by Early 2026
India is set to enhance its military capabilities with the integration of the Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) datalink system, targeted for completion by early 2026. This advanced technology will facilitate seamless collaboration between manned aircraft like the Su-30MKI and unmanned systems such as drones, improving operational effectiveness through real-time data sharing and coordinated mission planning. Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in collaboration with private firms, this system will optimize combat operations, enabling manned platforms to offload tasks to unmanned vehicles, thus enhancing mission success rates and reducing risks to personnel in contested environments. The initiative underscores India’s commitment to modernizing its defense capabilities and strategic autonomy.
