India forms committee to advance 'Sudarshan Chakra' project
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced the formation of a committee to evaluate India’s ambitious ‘Sudarshan Chakra’ project, aimed at creating a multi-layered air and missile defense shield. He emphasized the need for medium- and long-term action plans and urged the Armed Forces to adapt to evolving warfare dynamics, including unconventional threats. Singh also highlighted the importance of integrating advanced technologies and indigenous systems, alongside deeper collaboration with industry and academia to ensure operational readiness. Furthermore, he discussed the approval of the Defence Procurement Manual 2025 to streamline procurement processes, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing the defense capabilities of India.
