India Enhances Defense with PCLR in Low Observable Detection Network.

India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is enhancing its air defense capabilities with the integration of the Passive Coherent Location Radar (PCLR) into the Low Observable Detection Network (LODN), designed to counter stealth threats. This passive radar system leverages ambient FM broadcast signals to detect low-observable targets without revealing its location, providing a strategic advantage against advanced aerial threats. The PCLR, alongside other radar systems like VHF-SR and VostokD, creates a robust multilayered defense network that enhances India’s surveillance capabilities amid escalating regional tensions, particularly with China’s advancements in stealth technology. This initiative underscores India’s commitment to self-reliance in defense technology and aims to ensure air superiority by mitigating the invisible advantage of stealth aircraft.
