The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has formed a strategic partnership with the Indian Navy and Apollo Micro Systems to advance the development of critical defense technologies, including electronic warfare and high-energy weapon systems. This collaboration, formalized during the Indian Navy’s Swavalamban 2025 event, aims to enhance self-reliance in defense under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. IIT Madras will lead research and prototype development, while the Navy will ensure operational compatibility and standards. Apollo Micro Systems will focus on converting research into deployable systems, expediting the transfer of innovations to meet India’s immediate and future defense needs, thereby reinforcing India’s position as a hub for defense innovation.
