iDEX-DIO and EdCIL sign MoU to develop dual-use technologies

The Defence Innovation Organisation (iDEX-DIO) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EdCIL (India) Limited to develop dual-use technologies under the ASPIRE program, aiming to bridge defence and education sectors. This initiative reflects India’s commitment to indigenous capabilities and innovation, leveraging the start-up ecosystem to address critical challenges. Launched in 2018, iDEX has successfully engaged with over 650 start-ups, facilitating procurements worth approximately Rs 3,250 crore, thereby enhancing India’s defence capabilities. Such collaborations exemplify the government’s focus on self-reliance and technological advancement, positioning India as a burgeoning hub for innovative defence solutions.
