IAF to Acquire 400 Inflatable Decoys for Enhanced Deception
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to enhance its camouflage, concealment, and deception (CCD) capabilities by acquiring 400 inflatable decoys designed to mimic the radar and thermal signatures of various fighter and air defense systems. These decoys, capable of withstanding diverse climatic conditions, will confuse enemy targeting efforts, compel adversaries to expend munitions on false targets, and preserve IAF’s genuine combat assets during high-intensity conflicts. The initiative reflects a strategic adaptation of lessons learned from global conflicts, integrating electronic warfare and deception tactics to bolster deterrence and operational effectiveness, ultimately reinforcing India’s defense posture against potential adversaries.
