IAF Cobra-G Analyzes Recovered PL-15E Missile Components

On August 4, 2025, the Indian Air Force’s Cobra-G team concluded a comprehensive forensic study of Chinese PL-15E missile parts recovered following Operation Sindoor, during which an intact missile was intercepted in Punjab. The analysis provided valuable insights into the missile’s dual-pulse propulsion system, AESA radar seeker, and electronic counter-countermeasures, enhancing knowledge of Chinese missile technology used by Pakistan. Multiple global powers, including France, Japan, and members of the Five Eyes alliance, have sought access to the wreckage for evaluation. The Cobra-G team’s findings are actively contributing to the advancement of India’s Astra Mk-2 and Mk-3 missiles and improving electronic warfare tactics, thereby boosting domestic defense capabilities and reinforcing India’s role in international defense partnerships.
