IAF Adopts AI Simulators to Enhance Pilot Training and Readiness
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is adopting advanced AI simulation technologies to enhance pilot training amidst challenges posed by a depleting squadron strength and increasing threats from China and Pakistan. With only 31 squadrons, the IAF aims to improve combat readiness through cost-effective AI-driven simulators that deliver hyper-realistic scenarios, adaptive learning, and data-driven skill enhancement. This strategic pivot is supported by collaborations between the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), and private firms, reflecting India’s commitment to modernizing its military capabilities against evolving adversarial technologies while prioritizing indigenous innovation.
