HAL to Deliver TEJAS MK-1A by Sept 2025 Without Trials

HAL’s production of the TEJAS MK-1A faces significant delays, primarily due to slow engine deliveries from General Electric, which are critical for meeting the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) urgent requirements. The third production line has commenced, potentially increasing output, but it remains uncertain if the full order of 83 aircraft will be delivered on time. While the program aims to enhance India’s indigenous capabilities, the ongoing supply chain bottlenecks threaten to exacerbate the IAF’s already dwindling fighter squadrons, highlighting the need for expedited integration and manufacturing processes to ensure readiness against regional threats from Pakistan and China.
