HAL to Deliver 12 TEJAS MK-1A Jets to IAF by FY 2026 End
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is set to deliver 12 TEJAS MK-1A fighter jets to the Indian Air Force by the end of FY 2026, marking a significant advancement in India’s indigenous aerospace capabilities. HAL has already built and tested 10 airframes, with a total of 113 GE F404 engines ordered to ensure timely deliveries. The TEJAS MK-1A will integrate both indigenous and international weapon systems, enhancing India’s combat flexibility. Concurrently, the TEJAS MK-2 program is progressing, featuring advanced technologies like the GE F414 engine and DRDO’s Uttam AESA radar, reinforcing India’s pursuit of self-reliance in defense. This effort underscores India’s commitment to fostering a robust aerospace ecosystem and reducing reliance on foreign suppliers, thus enhancing national security and technological sovereignty.
