This strategic move seeks to reduce dependence on the foreign Honeywell TPE331-12B engine, which has faced supply chain issues, while also aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative. By modifying the HTSE-1200 with minimal additional R&D, HAL could meet increasing training demands and capitalize on a global market for trainers.
