HAL Seeks Development of Advanced Anti-Jamming GNSS for Military Aircraft
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) issued an Expression of Interest (EoI) on October 29, 2025, seeking Indian firms to design and develop an advanced Anti-Jamming and Anti-Spoofing Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) specifically for fixed-wing military aircraft. This initiative addresses growing electronic warfare threats posed by adversaries capable of disrupting satellite navigation, crucial for aircraft navigation and weapon systems. The GNSS system aims to combine hardware resilience with intelligent signal processing to safeguard against jamming and spoofing attempts, ensuring uninterrupted, secure navigation even in contested environments. This strategic move aligns with India’s broader defense modernization efforts to strengthen indigenous capabilities amid regional challenges, primarily from China and Pakistan, enhancing the Indian Air Force’s operational effectiveness and electronic resilience. HAL’s call signifies an important step toward securing India’s military airborne navigation in an era of sophisticated electronic warfare. Key developments took place in late October 2025, emphasizing Make-in-India collaboration to boost national security.
