HAL CEO: Su-30 Gets 100 Modifications, BrahMos Integration Achieved
The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) CEO announced that the Su-30 has undergone 100 modifications, largely due to India’s acquisition of Transfer of Technology (ToT) rights from Russia, allowing for significant indigenization. Notably, a key focus is on enhancing the aircraft’s avionics suite to reduce reliance on imported systems, with up to 75% indigenization expected in the next four to five years. The successful integration of the BrahMos missile is highlighted as a major achievement in adapting the Su-30 for Indian needs. Additionally, the Indian Air Force is set to retire its ageing MiG-21 fleet, marking a transition towards more modern capabilities.
