GRSE Delivers Second Anti-Submarine Warfare Vessel to Indian Navy
The Indian Navy has received its second Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Watercraft (ASWSWC), named Androth, from GRSE, following the delivery of INS Arnala just four months prior. This project enhances India’s indigenous naval capabilities, with GRSE leading the construction of 16 units, showcasing a high level of indigenisation. The ASWSWCs are crucial for coastal defense and anti-submarine operations, equipped with advanced technology for effective submarine engagement. This initiative aligns with India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” strategy, aiming to bolster maritime defense and establish India as a shipbuilding hub by 2047, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
