Gridbots, an Ahmedabad-based defense robotics manufacturer, has launched the HAWKBD, an indigenous Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robot designed to enhance India’s capabilities in counter-IED and hazardous operations. The HAWKBD features a modular, semi-autonomous design, equipped with a 6-axis manipulator arm and a comprehensive visual awareness suite for effective bomb disposal and reconnaissance tasks. Its robust design allows for stable mobility in challenging environments, while secure communication networks ensure operational resilience. This development reflects India’s commitment to advancing indigenous robotics for defense, aiming to reduce reliance on foreign technology and improve the operational efficiency of military and law enforcement agencies.
