General Dynamics to Showcase Enhanced Stryker APC for Indian Army in 2025

General Dynamics Land Systems plans to showcase an upgraded Stryker Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) to the Indian Army in late 2025, addressing performance issues identified during previous trials at high altitudes. The upgraded Stryker will feature a more powerful engine and amphibious capabilities, essential for India’s diverse operational environments, particularly along its borders with China and Pakistan. The Indian Army is interested in the Stryker’s Anti-Tank Guided Missile variant, which includes the advanced Javelin missile system. However, there are concerns about the Stryker’s foreign origin versus indigenous alternatives like the Wheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP), which align better with India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative and offer higher indigenous content.
