France considers India's Pinaka Rocket Launcher to meet artillery needs, strengthening defense ties.

France is currently evaluating India’s Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher for potential procurement, indicating a notable shift in the defense dynamics between the two nations. Brigadier General Stephane Richou highlighted France’s need for such capabilities, as the Pinaka system, developed by India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation, demonstrated effective operational use during the Kargil War. With a range of up to 90 kilometers, the system has already garnered interest from other nations, following a successful demonstration to a French delegation in India. This potential acquisition could solidify India as a credible supplier of advanced artillery systems, enhancing the existing defense partnership that includes significant projects like the P-75 Scorpene and Rafale aircraft deals.
