First batch of Army officers completes drone training at IIT Ropar.

In a significant advancement for the Indian Army’s drone capabilities, a batch of 25 officers and personnel has successfully completed a three-week Pilot Drone Training Programme at the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT-R), facilitated under the Army Training Command (ARTRAC). This initiative, highlighted by a three-year Memorandum of Understanding with IIT-R, aims to enhance self-reliance and combat readiness through comprehensive training on drone operations, countermeasures, and advanced modules in drone warfare. The program not only empowers participants with hands-on expertise and certifications but also positions the Army to better understand and counter adversarial drone capabilities. This collaboration reflects India’s commitment to developing indigenous military technologies, crucial for modern warfare dynamics.
