DRDO's Project Kusha to Develop Indigenous 500 km Radar System
The DRDO is advancing Project Kusha, which includes the M1 missile system and an indigenous Long-Range Battle Management Radar (LRBMR) with over 500 km detection capability. This radar features Digital Beam Forming technology, significantly enhancing multi-target tracking and situational awareness while being compact and efficient due to its GaN-based modules. The LRBMR will play a crucial role in India’s layered air and missile defense, offering improved mobility and integration for a network-centric battlefield. This development underscores India’s commitment to self-reliance and modernization of defense capabilities to counter various aerial threats effectively.
