DRDO's HIREPO Project Receives AoN, Enhancing Imaging for Security

The Defence Ministry’s Acquisition Council has granted Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for the HIREPO (High Resolution Imaging Payloads & Technologies with Identification Capabilities) project, led by the Instruments Research and Development Establishment (IRDE). This ambitious initiative, set to develop advanced ultraspectral and hyperspectral imaging payloads, aims to revolutionize India’s reconnaissance and detection capabilities over a 48-month project timeline. By enhancing precision in identifying targets, HIREPO can significantly bolster counter-insurgency and border security operations.
