DRDO To Create Advanced Legged Robotics for Space Missions
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India is set to develop advanced legged robotics for in-orbit applications, aiming for completion by 2027. These robotic systems will enhance mobility in zero-gravity environments for tasks such as satellite servicing, debris removal, and on-orbit assembly, thereby reducing reliance on human missions. With a focus on autonomous operations and advanced sensing technologies, the initiative aligns with India’s goal of self-reliance in aerospace.
