DRDO tests new electronic warfare suite for Tejas Mk 1A aircraft.
India’s Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) is advancing its military capabilities with the flight testing of the new Swayam Raksha Kavach (SRK) airborne electronic warfare suite for the Tejas Mk 1A light combat aircraft, expected to be deployed by the end of 2026. The SRK suite enhances the older D-29 system, featuring an integrated radar warning receiver and a jammer pod. Recent updates to the D-29 suite and technology transfers to Bharat Electronics Limited signify a strong collaborative effort in India’s defense sector. This development not only strengthens the Indian Air Force’s electronic warfare capabilities but also underlines India’s commitment to indigenously developed defense technologies, enhancing national security in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.
