DRDO Integrates Long Range Radar with Indigenous GaN AESA Technology
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed the integration of a Long Range Radar (LRR) utilizing indigenous Gallium Nitride (GaN) AESA technology, marking a significant advancement in India’s strategic air surveillance capabilities. This advanced radar system, designed for detecting high-speed aerial threats with small radar cross-sections, features enhanced power efficiency and reliability due to its GaN-based components. The LRR’s modular architecture ensures adaptability across various platforms, supporting India’s self-reliance objectives in defense technology while reducing dependence on foreign imports. The upcoming phases will focus on calibration and performance trials, underpinning DRDO’s commitment to strengthening India’s air dominance and strategic deterrence.
