DRDO advances NASM-MR missile integration with Indian Navy's MiG-29K fleet.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has made significant strides in integrating the Naval Anti-Ship Missile-Medium Range (NASM-MR) with the Indian Navy’s MiG-29K fleet, enhancing its maritime strike capabilities. This indigenous missile, designed for precision strikes against enemy vessels, boasts a range exceeding 350 km and employs advanced guidance systems for effective target acquisition. The Ministry of Defence has approved the project’s development, aiming for operational certification and an initial procurement of 200-300 units by 2027. The NASM-MR reinforces India’s strategic posture in countering regional threats, particularly amid rising Chinese naval activities in the Indian Ocean Region, and aligns with the Navy’s focus on self-reliance and future technology integration.
