Defence Minister Rajnath Singh witnesses DRDO-RRU MoU for enhanced defense R&D collaboration.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) on December 22, 2025, at South Block in New Delhi. The agreement, inked by DRDO’s Distinguished Scientist and Director General (Production Coordination & Services Interaction) Dr. Chandrika Kaushik and RRU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, with DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V. Kamat present, fosters collaboration in research, education, training, and technology support for defence and internal security. It promotes joint research projects, PhD and fellowship programmes, specialised capacity-building for security forces, studies on emerging challenges, technology gap analysis, future requirement forecasting, and life-cycle management of DRDO systems for Central Armed Police Forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs. This partnership strengthens India’s self-reliance in defence technologies, aligning with Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the whole-of-nation approach during Amrit Kaal, enhancing national security preparedness and strategic autonomy.
