Brazil’s Defence Minister has signaled significant progress in negotiations for India to procure six additional EMB-145 aircraft for conversion into advanced Netra AWACS platforms, aimed at enhancing the Indian Air Force’s surveillance capabilities. This collaboration aligns with Brazil’s proposal for its KC-390 transport aircraft and reflects a growing strategic partnership between the two nations amid shifting geopolitical dynamics. The upgraded Netra Mk1A variants will feature enhanced radar performance, with a detection range extending to approximately 450 km, crucial for monitoring adversarial threats.
