BrahMos-NG: India's Lighter, More Lethal Missile Enters Testing
BrahMos Aerospace is advancing its missile production capabilities with the upcoming BrahMos-NG, a lighter and more lethal version expected to enter autonomous testing by 2026. This strategic shift reflects India’s move towards a more deterrent posture in defense. With over 1,000 BrahMos missiles produced and interest from at least 14 countries, the new missile aims to integrate with lighter IAF aircraft like the MiG-29 and LCA Mk-1A. Enhanced production in collaboration with Russia seeks to reduce costs and boost exports, potentially enabling India to balance trade while achieving significant advancements in its aerial strike capabilities.
