BrahMos Aerospace to Start Autonomous Testing of BrahMos-NG by 2026

BrahMos Aerospace is poised to begin autonomous testing of its lightweight BrahMos-NG missile by 2026, marking a significant leap in India’s defense capabilities. This next-generation supersonic cruise missile, weighing just 1.29 tons, promises enhanced performance and versatility, particularly in multi-domain strike roles, with a range exceeding 300 kilometers and a speed up to Mach 3. The BrahMos-NG’s advanced AI-enhanced guidance systems will improve targeting precision and adaptability across various platforms, including smaller vessels and lighter aircraft. With serial production expected by 2028-2030, the BrahMos-NG is set to reinforce India’s strategic deterrence and operational agility in contested environments.
