Boeing addresses delays in Apache helicopter deliveries to India.
Boeing has confirmed delays in delivering the final three AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to the Indian Army due to logistical challenges influenced by external factors. These helicopters, part of a $600 million 2020 contract for six units, were initially expected by mid-2024 but faced repeated setbacks owing to supply chain disruptions and technical issues. The first batch of three delivered in July 2025 now operates at Jodhpur’s Army Aviation Corps. The remaining three, crucial for enhancing India’s attack helicopter capabilities along its western frontier, were en route in late October but were rerouted back to the US after an extended ground stop in the UK, further pushing deliveries beyond November 2025. Boeing is actively working with the U.S. government and Indian defense authorities to resolve these hurdles. This delay underscores the complexities faced in international defense procurement amid evolving geopolitical and supply chain dynamics. The Apaches remain vital to India’s strategic modernization to counter threats from Pakistan and China.
