Emerging from the 2021 corporatization of the Ordnance Factory Board, AVANI has become India’s premier armoured vehicle manufacturer, focusing on indigenous systems like the Arjun Main Battle Tank and T-90 Bhishma. With India’s defense exports projected to surpass ₹25,000 crore in FY 2024-25, this initiative aligns with the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, emphasizing self-reliance and international partnerships. However, challenges such as export controls and competition from other nations require strategic diplomatic engagement to build long-term, trust-based collaborations in a rapidly evolving global defense landscape.
