ARDE Unveils Air-Launched Pinaka Rocket to Enhance IAF Precision
The Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) has announced plans for an air-launched version of the Pinaka rocket system, enhancing the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) precision-strike capabilities, particularly with its integration into frontline fighter jets like the Sukhoi Su-30MKI and Rafale. This initiative aims to provide a cost-effective, indigenous alternative to imported systems, improving the IAF’s standoff strike arsenal while aligning with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative for self-reliance. The development of the air-launched Pinaka, particularly the Pinaka-IV variant with a 300 km range, showcases India’s commitment to building advanced defense capabilities and reducing reliance on foreign suppliers, ensuring operational readiness in diverse combat scenarios.
