Andhra Pradesh to launch naval systems cluster along Vizag-Srikakulam corridor.

The Andhra Pradesh government is set to establish a Naval Systems and Shipbuilding Cluster along the Vizag-Srikakulam corridor as part of its Aerospace and Defence Policy for 2025-2030. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu discussed this initiative with Vice Admiral Sanjay Bhalla of the Eastern Naval Command, emphasizing the importance of indigenous naval technology in alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. During the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam, Naidu expressed the state’s commitment to boosting both naval activities and tourism, envisioning Visakhapatnam as a hub for innovation, education, and economic development. He highlighted plans for a Navy Museum to foster awareness about the defense sector among youth and assured that the state government would provide necessary land for naval projects. The discussions also encompassed collaboration opportunities with foreign investors, including Taiwanese companies, to enhance local industrial capabilities, thereby reinforcing Andhra Pradesh’s role in India’s defense and maritime ecosystem while promoting job creation and technological advancement.
