Adani Defence and Aerospace has proposed the Aryan 52, a 155mm/52 caliber truck-mounted howitzer, designed to meet the Indian Army’s artillery modernization needs and potentially valued at over 15,000 crore for up to 800 units. This system integrates Elbit Systems’ ATMOS turret with BEML’s new high-mobility vehicle chassis, promising enhanced mobility and firepower while achieving over 70% indigenization. The Aryan 52, suitable for diverse terrains, offers capabilities like shoot-and-scoot, automated loading, and advanced situational awareness, aligning with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. This proposal highlights the importance of private sector involvement in defense manufacturing, aiming to fulfill the army’s urgent requirement for modern artillery systems.
