ADA Releases RFP for Iron Bird Facilities in AMCA Program Development

The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the development of Iron Bird test facilities crucial for the Fly-By-Wire (FBW) Flight Control System of India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) program. This initiative, aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, aims to enhance indigenous capabilities in defense aerospace by inviting experienced Indian vendors to complete the project in 26 months at ADA’s Iblur Test Facility in Bangalore. The RFP emphasizes the importance of rigorous ground testing to ensure the reliability of the AMCA’s advanced avionics, which is projected for prototype rollout by 2028-29. This development not only strengthens India’s defense readiness amid regional challenges but also promotes private sector participation, fostering innovation and job creation in the defense industry.
