Spain Arrests Leader of GXC Team Cybercrime Network, Disrupting Operations
Spanish authorities have arrested a 25-year-old Brazilian national, known as GoogleXcoder, accused of leading the GXC Team, a sophisticated cybercrime network engaged in Crime-as-a-Service (CaaS) operations. This group allegedly specialized in providing phishing kits and malware tools to cybercriminals globally, significantly contributing to financial frauds in multiple countries, including Spain and the US. The arrest followed a year-long investigation resulting in six coordinated raids across Spain, leading to the seizure of electronic devices containing evidence of their operations. This development significantly disrupts a major cybercrime ecosystem, emphasizing the ongoing challenges of cybersecurity and the need for international collaboration to address such threats effectively.
