An Intelligence Agency report has revealed that the Pakistan-linked hacker group Transparent Tribe is conducting a significant cyber-espionage campaign against Indian government and military networks using advanced spyware known as DeskRAT. This group has enhanced its tactics, now utilizing private servers and sophisticated phishing emails disguised as official communications, aligning with security alerts to compromise sensitive information. The report emphasizes the use of artificial intelligence to rapidly develop new malware variants, posing a serious challenge to traditional cybersecurity measures. In response, the Ministry of Home Affairs has mandated all ministries and defense units to intensify cyber vigilance, underscoring the critical nature of this threat to national security amidst ongoing border tensions with China.
