A North Korea-linked hacking group, identified as APT37, has initiated a cyber attack campaign named Artemis, embedding malicious code in Hangul Word Processor (HWP) documents to infiltrate South Korean government and industrial networks. This sophisticated operation indicates a refinement of their cyber capabilities, as evidenced by their previous attacks utilizing Android malware to remotely control devices and erase critical data. The findings underscore the persistent threat posed by North Korean cyber operations, which continue to evolve in their methods of reconnaissance and data extraction, posing significant risks to national security and digital infrastructure in South Korea and beyond.
