Israel's cyber chief warns of rising threats from digital warfare.

At the Cyber Week conference in Tel Aviv, Brig. Gen. (res.) Yossi Karadi, head of Israel’s National Cyber Directorate, emphasized the escalating threat of cyber warfare, which can incapacitate nations without conventional military action. He introduced the concept of a “digital siege,” where critical infrastructure could be disrupted remotely, citing recent Iranian cyber threats targeting civilian systems in Israel. Karadi highlighted a significant uptick in psychological operations, with Israel facing 1,200 influence campaigns during conflicts, making it the third most targeted nation for cyberattacks globally. This evolving landscape underscores the urgent need for robust cyber defenses and positions Israel as a leader in cybersecurity innovation amidst growing international threats.
