Security forces enhance operations in Kathua after terrorist gunfight.
Security forces have intensified their operations in the Billawar area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district following a gunfight with terrorists. The encounter began during a search operation targeting two to three militants reported to be hiding in the thick forest of Kamadh Nullah. Inspector General of Police, Bhim Sen Tuti, confirmed that despite challenging conditions, the Special Operations Group and CRPF are actively engaged in neutralizing the threat. The region has seen a resurgence in terrorist activity, with a notable increase in encounters leading to casualties among both security personnel and militants, signaling a critical challenge for local law enforcement and national security efforts in maintaining stability in the area.
