The Indian Army is actively engaged in humanitarian relief efforts in Sri Lanka under Operation Sagar Bandhu, following the destruction caused by Cyclone Ditwah. Recent initiatives include the successful construction of a dual carriageway Bailey bridge in Kilinochchi and ongoing site improvement work for a new 100-foot Bailey bridge in Kandy, aimed at restoring vital road connectivity along the B-492 Highway. Major General Rohan Medagoda of the Sri Lanka Army praised the Indian Army’s contributions, emphasizing the importance of these efforts in aiding recovery and strengthening bilateral ties.
