Thales wins £10 million contract for Royal Navy autonomous command centres.

Thales has secured a £10 million contract with the UK’s Defence Equipment and Support to develop autonomous remote command centres for the Royal Navy’s mine countermeasures, a project expected to expand to £100 million. This initiative is a key component of the UK’s Strategic Defence vision, enhancing maritime capabilities through autonomous mine hunting technology. The command centres will integrate multiple unmanned systems and utilize advanced software, including AI-driven target recognition for improved operational efficiency. This investment not only bolsters the Royal Navy’s capabilities in response to increasing global threats but also sustains over 200 skilled jobs across Thales’ UK sites, reinforcing regional supply chains and industry partnerships.
