Under Operation Kalnemi, a significant law enforcement initiative launched by the Uttarakhand Government in July 2025, authorities have arrested 511 individuals, including 19 Bangladeshis, across three districts—Haridwar, Dehradun, and Udham Singh Nagar. The operation aims to combat illegal activities disguised as religious practices, with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasizing that the campaign is not directed against any community but seeks to uphold law and order. Among those arrested, ten Bangladeshis have already been deported, while action is pending for the remaining nine.
