India's semiconductor self-reliance to lead to imminent exports, says Amit Shah.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared on December 25, 2025, at the Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit in Gwalior that India, despite entering the semiconductor sector late, has made a strong entry and will soon achieve self-reliance while beginning exports. Inaugurating projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore—expected to create 1.93 lakh jobs—he praised Madhya Pradesh’s BJP government for registering a record 4.57 lakh MSMEs in one year, with nearly 50% of startups led by women, positioning the state as a hub for industries like agriculture, pharma, IT, textiles, and tourism. Shah highlighted the state’s strategic central location for low logistics costs, surplus power, top cleanliness rankings, and initiatives like Indore’s multi-modal logistics park, marking a shift from its BIMARU past to a key driver of India’s technological rise under PM Modi’s vision.
