This initiative aims to facilitate the selection of officers for the Armed Forces and encourage local youth to pursue military careers, addressing the accessibility challenges faced by candidates from the North Eastern Region due to distant SSB locations. The Defence Minister’s positive response highlights the potential for a joint Selection Centre for the Army and Air Force in Guwahati, which would greatly benefit the region’s aspiring candidates and strengthen the Indian defense framework by promoting local recruitment.
