AMCA Project Director Reveals Key Details on India's 5th-Gen Fighter
The Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), India’s indigenous fifth-generation stealth fighter, has finalized its paper design and is expected to make its first flight by the end of 2027. With a focus on advanced stealth capabilities, the AMCA features an internal weapons bay, dual operational modes, AI-assisted avionics, and significant radar-absorbent materials. This project signals a substantial improvement in India’s defense technology and self-reliance, with an estimated development cost of around 15,000 crore rupees and plans for five prototypes before entering production. By developing the AMCA, India joins a select group of nations capable of producing advanced stealth fighters, enhancing its strategic autonomy in air combat.
