External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Israel on December 16, 2025, for a two-day visit to bolster India-Israel strategic ties amid preparations for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s anticipated trip to India. Following recent phone discussions between Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jaishankar held talks with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, focusing on bilateral and regional issues including zero tolerance for terrorism. The visit underscores deepening defense collaboration through a landmark November agreement on co-development and co-production of advanced technologies, alongside economic momentum from a Bilateral Investment Treaty and Free Trade Agreement terms of reference.
