Bangladesh celebrates 54 years of liberation, honoring ties with India.

Bangladesh commemorated its Victory Day, marking the 54th anniversary of liberation from Pakistani forces in 1971, with ceremonies across the nation, including a gathering at the National Monument in Savar. President Muhammad Sahabuddin and Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus led tributes to the martyrs, accompanied by a ceremonial 31-gun salute. The event highlighted the enduring ties between India and Bangladesh, as both nations invited each other’s war veterans and serving officers to participate in their respective celebrations. This collaborative remembrance underscores the shared history and mutual respect that continues to shape the regional dynamics between the two countries.
