In a significant move to enhance security in hilly and remote areas, Reasi district officials have established 97 new Village Defence Guard (VDG) groups, incorporating 1,164 new members into the security framework. The initiative aims to bolster local security measures and address any suspicious activities, with a total of 1,902 additional members added to existing groups. Authorities have also replaced 726 over-aged VDG personnel with younger, fit members to maintain operational effectiveness.
