The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) recently confirmed the elimination of a senior Hezbollah terrorist, Zakaria Yahya al-Hajj, in an airstrike in southern Lebanon, along with two other operatives involved in re-establishing the group’s infrastructure. The IDF stated that al-Hajj played a significant role in suppressing dissent against Hezbollah and activating agents within Lebanon’s security apparatus. Since the beginning of October, the IDF has reportedly targeted around 40 Hezbollah terrorists across 30 locations, amid claims that Hezbollah has breached a ceasefire agreement over 1,900 times. These developments underscore the ongoing tensions in the region and highlight Israel’s proactive military strategy to counter perceived threats from Hezbollah.
